Physical education and motor skills

Balance, coordination and healthy habits at every stage

In our motor-skills classes students do exercises that build fine and gross motor skills, improving balance, speed, dexterity, coordination, spatial awareness and rhythm. Physical education continues through preschool and elementary school.

Motor skills in preschool

At three and four, the body is the first tool for learning. Circuits, jumps, throwing and rhythm games help children get to know their bodies, gain confidence and prepare the hand that will later write.

Physical education in preschool

Games with rules, coordination, laterality, balance and teamwork. Learning to wait your turn, to lose and to try again is part of the class too.

In elementary school

Sports fundamentals, fitness and healthy habits: hydration, warming up and taking care of your body. Anyone who wants more can join the basketball club.

Physical development and health

This is one of the official learning areas. At Encinos we work on it outdoors whenever Tecate's weather allows, in the school playground and on the court.
