Respect, freedom with responsibility, dialogue and service

«Character-first education» is the Colegio Encinos motto, and it isn't there for decoration. The school environment fosters values by creating a climate of respect, responsibility and harmony, and builds habits that give every child solid structure and a foundation for whole-child development.

Our values

Respect: teaching respect and the integrity of the person. Freedom: educating in freedom with responsibility. Values of relationship: dialogue, participation and service. Creativity and imagination: building them as values in their own right.

Habits

Creating and encouraging habits — order, punctuality, taking care of your things, washing hands, greeting people — gives every child solid structure. A habit well formed at three is one less worry at ten.

Getting along and feelings

We encourage every child to have confidence in themselves and a foundation for healthy self-esteem. Individually they work on belonging and managing emotions; as a group, on sharing and collaborating.

Identity and community

Civic assemblies, flag ceremonies and celebrations — like September 16, with its assembly, regional music, dancing and traditional-costume parade — teach history and tradition, and build community among students, teachers and families.
