Art and dance

Classes that bring out every student's creative talent

The arts are one of the three pillars of the Colegio Encinos environment, together with values and habits. Through dance and the visual arts, your child improves coordination, rhythm and expression, and learns to communicate with a range of techniques, from preschool through sixth grade.

Dance

Through dance your child improves coordination, rhythm and the confidence to perform in front of others. Dancing as a group also builds memory, posture and teamwork: following a sequence, keeping time and moving with everyone else.

Visual arts

Painting, modeling, collage, texture work and drawing. Each technique builds fine motor skills, patience and the ability to imagine before making. With the youngest children, the process matters more than the result.

Appreciation and expression

Artistic expression and appreciation is one of the official learning areas. Beyond making, students observe, discuss and compare works, and present their own to others.

Festivals

Art leaves the classroom at school festivals: regional dances, performances and the traditional-costume parade on September 16 are examples of what students prepare through the year.
