«Character-first education» is the Colegio Encinos motto. At school, values get practiced every day, but where they are learned most is at home, watching what the adults do. These seven activities help give them shape.
1. A fixed chore at home
Setting the table, feeding the pet, watering a plant. One small responsibility, theirs, every day.
2. The dinner question
«What did you do for someone today?» It shifts the conversation from what they got to what they gave.
3. Naming emotions
Before correcting a behavior, help them say what they feel: «you're angry because the game ended». Naming is the first step to self-regulation.

4. Solving conflicts with words
When two siblings argue, ask each to tell their version and propose a solution. It's Philosophy for Children applied to the living room.
5. Freedom with responsibility
Let them choose — the clothes, the story, the order of their tasks — and live with the reasonable consequences of that choice.
6. Service as a family
Taking food to a neighbor, donating toys, helping a grandparent. Service is understood by doing it.
7. Apologizing and saying thank you
Children learn to apologize by watching adults do it — including to them.
Values aren't explained: they're practiced until they become habit.
